Feyisitan tapped as EBCAP’s new CEO and president

EAST PROVIDENCE – The former Community Action Partnership of Providence CEO and president will take on the same role with the East Bay Community Action Program.

EBCAP announced Thursday that Rilwan K. Feyisitan Jr. has been named the nonprofit human services organization’s new CEO and president. Feyisitan will succeed Dennis Roy, a 2020 Providence Business News Leaders & Achievers honoree who announced back in July that he is retiring at the end of this year.

EBCAP says that Feyisitan has more than 20 years’ experience advancing health equity and community engagement causes, and socioeconomic enhancements both locally and regionally. Over the last nine years, Feyisitan, EBCAP says, worked in multiple positions with the Community Action Partnership of Providence, including as its director of operations, deputy director, and, most recently, as the organization’s top executive.

Feyisitan also was the chief administration for the R.I. Department of Health’s Office of Minority Health. There, EBCAP said, Feyisitan provided guidance and support to RIDOH’s goal of eliminating racial and ethnic health disparities and advancing economic, education, social and political equity.

“Rilwan is no stranger to the mission and vision of community action and that’s why we are very excited to welcome him as our new president and CEO,” said Jim Vincent, chairman of EBCAP’s board of directors, in a statement. “As a proven leader, Rilwan brings a wealth of knowledge and an undeniable commitment to improving the lives and livelihoods of underserved populations in communities throughout Rhode Island.”
