Countless nonprofits and school organizations rely on grants to fund their work. But applying for these grants often means leaders must take time away from their missions and spend many hours writing, researching and organizing documents.
With a goal to help organizations obtain funds and clear valuable time, Phil Auger launched Grants New England last July in North Kingstown.
Auger, who has managed more than $30 million in grant-funded projects, decided to turn his knack for grant management into a full-time job after he stepped down last year as North Kingstown school superintendent after a high school basketball coach was accused of misconduct.
Through his business, Auger helps dozens of nonprofits find grant opportunities, form proposals and manage application schedules.
“I like working with ideas and putting together projects with other people who are really passionate about trying to make the world and their organization better,” Auger said.
Auger and his team also offer advice on strategic plan development, which he said is a crucial component to any grant application.
