PROVIDENCE – The board of directors of Nestor Inc. (Nasdaq: NEST), a provider of traffic-safety systems and services, has unanimously elected former U.S. Rep. Harold E. Ford to fill the seat vacated Nov. 1 by Dr. Albert H. Cox Jr.

Ford, 72, served two terms in the Tennessee House of Representatives before being elected to Congress, where he represented his home state from 1975 to 1997. He was a member of the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations during its investigation of the death of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University, a mortuary degree from the John A. Gupton College and an MBA from Howard University.
