PROVIDENCE – Frontier Airlines and Barclays have relaunched the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard, allowing cardholders access to the benefits of Elite Status when they use the card for any type of purchase, not only for Frontier flights. For every dollar spent for any purpose, cardholders receive at least 1 qualifying mile toward Elite Status.

Frontier offers low-fare service and some nonstop flights to many cities out of T. F. Green Airport in Warwick.

The refreshed card program offers more ways to earn miles with a 5-3-1 earning structure. Purchases at flyfrontier.com earn the cardholder 5 miles for every dollar spent. Similarly, purchases at restaurants earn 3 miles for every dollar spent and all other purchases earn a 1-1 dollar to mile benefit.

New cardholders earn 40,000 bonus miles after spending $500 on purchases in the first 90 days and paying the $79 annual fee.

Frontier’s mission is to make it possible for more people to fly and for people to fly more often.

“Frontier Airlines continues to prove it’s possible to make air travel accessible and affordable,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president of marketing. “Giving our card members opportunities to earn more miles, along with the ability to earn Elite Status through credit card spend alone, makes it easy for every type of flyer to experience our low fares done right.”

Details:

  • Elite 20k status: Spending $20,000 on the card each calendar year earns a free carry-on bag and seat assignment.
  • Elite 50k status: Spending $50,000 earns Elite 20k status benefit, along with family seating and seat assignment for the cardholder and eight traveling companions.
  • Elite 100k status: Spending $100,000 qualifies the cardholder for the WORKSSM bundle of addition benefits for the primary cardholder and up to eight traveling companions.
