Gas prices start new year on an upswing, 2 cents in R.I., 5 cents in Mass.

GAS PRICES IN RHODE ISLAND rose 3 cents in the past week, according to AAA Northeast. Over the year, the price of self-serve, unleaded regular gasoline increased 1 cent in the Ocean State.
GASOLINE PRICES IN RHODE ISLAND rose 2 cents per gallon in the past week, according to AAA Northeast. Over the year, the price of self-serve, unleaded regular gasoline has increased 18 cents per gallon in the Ocean State.
