PROVIDENCE – GTECH Corp. and GTECH Printing Corp. expect to generate more than $50 million in revenue from a new contract awarded by the Nebraska Lottery to the gaming giant last Thursday.
GTECH and GTECH Printing, both subsidiaries of Italian gaming technology firm Lottomatica Group S.p.A., won the competitive procurement to provide Nebraska Lottery with an online/instant lottery system, terminals, IP-communications network, ongoing services, instant-ticket printing, and storage and distribution.
“Selecting GTECH as our unified gaming contractor fits the mission of the Nebraska Lottery to generate proceeds for good causes while providing quality entertainment options to Nebraskans,” said Jim Haynes, director of the Nebraska Lottery. “Their proposal included many benefits that will allow us to continue to support the environment, education, the Nebraska State Fair and compulsive-gamblers assistance.”
The contract, which has yet to be formalized, would take effect on July 1, 2011, and last six years. The current proposal includes the option for four one-year contract extensions.

GTECH Corp. has been providing instant and online game production and services for the Nebraska Lottery since 1994. Under the new contract, GTECH Corp. will install its gaming computer system and approximately 1,200 full-function terminals at various retailers. Additionally, GTECH Printing will work with the Nebraska Lottery to develop a new portfolio of instant-ticket games.
