PROVIDENCE – Nearly 140 golfers participated in this year’s Hasbro Children’s Hospital Invitational on July 24 at the Rhode Island Country Club helping to raise $293,789 for programs and research efforts at the children’s hospital.

Of the total, $30,000 will go to the Lawrence A. Aubin Sr. Child Protection Center, caring for some of the most vulnerable children suffering from abuse and neglect.

The course was abbreviated because of the weather, but a special reception, presentation of awards, dinner and live auction brought the entertainment indoors. Participation in the live auction, which included Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots experiences, netted $16,000 for the hospital.

Sponsors for the 2017 Hasbro Children’s Hospital Invitational included Aubin Corp. and H. Carr & Sons Inc., as well as sponsors ACS Industries Inc., Citizens Bank, ClarkDietrich Building Systems, Daniele Inc., Dimeo Construction Co., The Hart Cos., First Bristol Corp., The Kraft Group, North Atlantic Distribution Inc. and Rhode Island Medical Imaging.
