The return of the long-running Rhode Island Home Show in April after a three-year hiatus will hopefully be one of many signs of normalcy in the Ocean State this year.
The show, led by the Rhode Island Builders Association, had been held since 1950 until COVID-19 forced its cancellation the last two years.
Association CEO John Marcantonio told PBN there was a real chance the show would become a permanent pandemic casualty but, as has been the case with so many other local events, committed supporters came together to bring it back.
The show will include more than 200 industry exhibitors, along with seminars and workshops at the R.I. Convention Center between April 7-10. It will also feature the Rhode Island Specialty Flower Show and its popular floral competition, among a host of other events.
Equally important for the construction industry, the show revives a partnership with local career and technical schools by showcasing displays and features from students.
“The show is now more a community tool for recruitment into the industry,” Marcantonio said.
