Hopkins named program director of MassChallenge Rhode Island, program accepting 2019 accelerator applications

PROVIDENCE – Hope Hopkins has been named program director of MassChallenge Rhode Island, the organization announced last week.

Hopkins joins MassChallenge having most recently served as vice president of the R.I. Commerce Corp. Hopkins succeeds Andrew Mallon, who said he left the position in September.

“It’s clear to see the impact entrepreneurship has on economic development, job creation and industry disruption,” said Hopkins in a statement. “With support from Rhode Island’s passionate community of corporates, policy makers, investors, academia and more, we can lower the barriers to entry and make it easier for startups to succeed. I’m excited to join MassChallenge and work with this community to expand the program’s impact and accelerate the most game-changing solutions across industries.”

Hopkins appointment was effective Jan. 23.

The organization is also now accepting applications from startups for its 2019 accelerator. The deadline for early application is Feb. 13 and the final deadline to apply is March 13.
