PROVIDENCE – Rhode Island Hospital’s department of neuropsychiatry is recruiting patients for two studies involving the treatment of nonepileptic seizures with psychotherapy and with a combination of psychosocial treatment and medication.
The studies are directed by Dr. W. Curt LaFrance Jr., director of neuropsychiatry at Rhode Island Hospital and assistant professor of psychiatry and neurology at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School.
The neuropsychiatry department at Rhode Island Hospital was established to evaluate and treat individuals with brain/behavior disorders. It works in conjunction with several of Rhode Island Hospital’s programs, including the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program and the Mood Disorders Program.
