BURRILLVILLE – Charcuterie Artisans, the parent company of Rhode Island-based food maker Daniele International LLC and Creminelli Fine Meats of Utah, announced Tuesday that it has been acquired by an investment fund managed by Industrial Opportunity Partners. Charcuterie Artisans said it will now expand capacity at both its production facilities in the Mapleville section of Burrillville and in Salt Lake City, working on strengthening customer partnerships and innovation across its portfolio of Italian-style meats. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. With the acquisition comes a change in leadership. Jeff “Trip” Tripician has been appointed Charcuterie Artisans CEO and president, and John Brook was named executive vice president of sales and marketing. The pair will work with legacy leaders, including Cristiano Creminelli, founder of Creminelli Fine Meats, and other long-tenured team members, according to the press release. However, it was unclear if Charcuterie Artisans' current CEO, David Finch, would remain with the company. Representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment. “For more than a century, our family and teams have been dedicated to crafting authentic Italian-style charcuterie built on tradition, quality and trust,” Creminelli said in a statement. “This new chapter allows us to honor that heritage while scaling to meet the growing demand from our customers. With [Industrial Opportunity Partners'] support and our experienced leadership team, we can continue to strengthen relationships, ensure supply and bring new innovations to the category.” Tripician previously held senior leadership roles at Perdue Premium Meats, Niman Ranch, Coleman Natural and Teton Waters Ranch. “This is a natural fit for me, having been both a customer and a vendor with these companies in past roles,” said Tripician. “That experience gives me a unique perspective on how to deliver what matters most: consistent supply, trusted relationships and products that help our customers succeed.” Brock has more than 30 years of leadership experience with companies such as Sara Lee and Oberto. “With IOP’s backing, we can double down on execution for current partners while opening new opportunities in the charcuterie category,” Brock said. “Our first priority is strong, reliable fill rates. Next comes innovation that drives growth for our customers and the category as a whole.” Charcuterie Artisans formed in 2020 from a merger between Rhode Island-based Daniele Foods and Utah-headquartered Creminelli Fine Meats.
