FRAMINGHAM — The TJX Companies, Inc., said sales results for the four-week period ended January 27 were up 12 percent compared to the same period a year ago. The off-price retailer, which owns and operates T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, A.J. Wright, Winners and T.K. Maxx stores, said sales were $528 million last month, compared to $472 million in the year-ago period.
For the 52 weeks ended January 27, sales reached $9.58 billion — an increase of 9 percent from $8.8 billion during the same period a year ago, the company said.
Consolidated comparable store sales for January were up 4 percent compared to the same period last year, and consolidated comparable store sales for the 52 weeks ended January 27 were up 2 percent compared to last year, TJX said.
