What is the biggest challenge currently facing your industry and how are you responding to it? As a customer service leader, it is evident that we are experiencing a talent deficit in this field. Despite the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting a 5% decline in these jobs through 2033, there are approximately 365,000 job openings in customer service across the country, with a large driver being average employee attrition. I have found that staying focused on the needs of our consumers and members by engaging with them, participating in community activities and understanding how our work in concierge can better support the health and well-being of our seniors is essential.
