Power and Associates ranked Cox Communications as No. 1 among small to midsize business data service providers in the 2010 U.S. Major Provider Business Telecommunications Study.
Cox also ranked highest among small business data providers in 2006 and 2008 in similar studies by the global marketing information services provider J.D. Power and Associates.
The broadband communications company surpassed other providers in four of six categories that drive customer satisfaction: billing, customer service, performance and reliability and sales representatives/account executives.
“In this year’s study, customers indicated a significant decline in service outages and the biggest improvement was among small to midsize businesses,” said J.D. Power and Associates, according to the Cox press release. “Cox’s focus on delivering enterprise-level service to smaller business reflects this trend and is indicated in its high satisfaction scores.”
Optimum Business earned 668 points in the segment rankings, following Cox’s 683 points; AT&T ranked third with 647 points.
The ranking was based on 5,439 surveys, conducted from September to November and January to March in 2009.
Cox Business is the fourth largest provider of business ethernet services in the U.S. based on customer ports and the seventh largest voice service provider, according a company statement.
