JOHNSTON – McDonald’s has a new restaurant model that includes new ways of ordering. It’s been rolled out in 125 McDonald’s restaurants in New England so far, including in Johnston, where a grand-reopening celebration was held earlier this month with Mayor Joseph Polisena in attendance.
Digital, self-order kiosks are now located at the Atwood Avenue location, a move to make ordering and paying more convenient. Guests can browse the menu, make choices and customize their meal. A McDonald’s mobile app allows customers to place an order, pay within the app and then pick up at the counter, drive-thru, or with new curbside delivery service, the company said in a news release.
McDonald’s also now offers table service, where customers’ food is brought right to their table when it’s ready.
“We’re happy to be delivering a better experience in customer dining and choice to the Johnston community,” said Jennifer Liggett, McDonald’s franchise owner and operator. “We’ve all had the traditional interaction at a McDonald’s restaurant. … Now we are placing every step of this experience in the hands of our valued customers.”
