How has COVID-19 changed your industry? I have always felt that [human resources] is one of the most critical functions in a corporation, but I think that the COVID-19 pandemic not only expanded our function’s influence, but also has led us to a renewed focus on employees, inclusive of their health and safety. We are wearing more hats than ever before, with everyone turning to us for guidance on how to move forward in this new digital, flexible, hybrid world.

What is the best advice you have ever received? Your life is your responsibility. That includes your energy, your happiness, your fulfillment, your career and your choices.

Where do you see yourself in five years? I see myself continuing to give my all in my professional life and my personal life. … Making time for my husband and children as a first priority, while continuing to learn and progress my career in the field of people and culture.

What moment changed your life more than any other? The birth of my two daughters, Addison in 2013 and Emily in 2016.

What is your greatest attribute that you bring to your job? Attitude and authenticity. I approach my work with energy and determination to contribute, while always staying true to myself.

What led you to pursuing a career in your current industry? I started my career in finance but quickly realized my passion was on the impact that the HR function could have on an organization. Curiosity sparked when friends talked to me about the organizations they worked for. I was interested in their business models, their organizational structures and how it all fit together.
