Kent Hospital names Wold new chief medical officer

WARWICK – Kent Hospital has announced Thomas D. Wold as its new chief medical officer, effective Dec. 12.

Wold has an extensive background in health care, serving most recently as the division vice president of Graduate Medical Education in the Capital Division at the Healthcare Corporation of America in Nashville, Tenn. Prior to that role, he was chief medical officer at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, N.H., for six years.

Wold also managed medical intensive care education at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Massachusetts and served as core faculty in their Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship.

In 2012, he received the Critical Care Teaching Attending of the Year award from the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center.

A graduate from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, wold trained in internal medicine and critical care at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He has master’s degree in physiology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Massachusetts’ Isenberg School of Management.
