EAST PROVIDENCE – Geisser Engineering, which provides engineering and construction testing and inspection services to clients on projects primarily in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, was acquired Monday by S.W. Cole Engineering Inc.

“Geisser clients can expect to see growth of our core construction materials testing, special inspections and geotechnical engineering services,” said Robert E. Chaput Jr., S.W. Cole CEO and president. “As a division of S.W. Cole, the Geisser Engineering office in [East Providence] will have expanded geotechnical engineering and construction testing capabilities, and a network of offices and team members throughout New England to help efficiently cover our client’s projects.”
S.W. Cole, which was founded in 1979, has seven offices in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. The company provides geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and special inspections services.
The is the first S.W. Cole branch office to open in Rhode Island. The company’s regional acquisitions include Tibbetts Engineering Corp. in Taunton, in 2017.
“S.W. Cole has a history of performing project work in Rhode Island, so it was only natural to have a physical presence and expand our service offerings to Rhode Island,” said Chad Michaud, COO and executive vice president of S.W. Cole.
