Scott Maiocchi has joined (add)ventures as the new director of video and animation. He is an award-winning director of photography and editor with more than 15 years of experience. Maiocchi has worked with corporate and commercial clients such as Motorola, HBO, CNN, PBS and numerous Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining (add)ventures, Scott was the vice president and director of photography at A&M Productions in Providence.

PBN: What responsibilities are you looking forward to managing in your new position?
MAIOCCHI: At (add)ventures, I’m looking forward to working with our client partners to harness their vast branding potential. As a full-service firm, (add)ventures creates a synergy amongst a variety of disciplines, including video and interactive [media]. Having an internal video production team – we call it (add)motion – enables us to service our clients’ needs immediately by creating and distributing content across a wide variety of platforms such as TV, Web and mobile devices, such as iPhones.

PBN: What do you enjoy most about your work?
MAIOCCHI: To me there is nothing better than taking something complex, such as health care, and simplifying it through the magic of video. I am most influenced by the current technology that is broadening audiences on a much more global level. Through online videos, people from all over the world can now see and experience a destination from thousands of miles away. They can check out their hotel before they check in, or they can see or experience a product before buying.

PBN: Video has taken on new possibilities through Web-based applications. What do you see for the future of branding through video?
MAIOCCHI: Video should be at the forefront of every organization’s marketing plan. With the expanded video capabilities at (add)ventures, we are at the leading edge of this technology. While Web-based video – as well as the Internet – is still in its infancy, it is a prime opportunity to address core audiences and inform them about your brand. Streaming video has grown substantially over the past few years and has become an important resource to communicate corporate messages to a global audience. The differentiating factor going forward will be the quality and professionalism in how videos are produced. &#8226
