“Manton Avenue Project Gala – a musical remounting of kids’ time travel plays with special guests!”

(Providence, RI) The Manton Avenue Project will host its annual gala fundraiser and performance on June 3rd

at Fete Music in Olneyville at 6pm.

The Manton Avenue Project (MAP) is a non-profit organization that unites children living in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood

with local theater professionals to create original theater together. The Manton Avenue Project’s mission is to unleash the creative voices

and unique potential of kids living in Olneyville. MAP works to show under-resourced kids the value of their voices and,

through the long-term commitment that MAP makes to each child, help them reach their full potential as tomorrow’s creative thinkers

and community leaders.

This year’s gala fundraiser will include a musical remounting of kids’ time travel themed plays and a world

premiere time travel themed play by acclaimed playwright Erik Ehn, head of the playwriting program at

Brown University directed by beloved Trinity actor Joe Wilson Jr. This production will star some of

Providence’s best and brightest performers. The plays will also include performances by MAP kids!

“We are thrilled to present our 2013 Gala – MAP TO THE FUTURE 2. We are remounting plays that are

brilliant examples of Olneyville kids expressing their amazing imaginations on the public stage with

incredible adult artists supporting them, and we’re adding a musical twist with the fantastic compositions

of David Tessier,” says Artistic Director Meg Sullivan. “We are so excited to have the wonderful playwright

Erik Ehn as our special guest playwright for the evening, and to be able to host the event at Fete Music,

in the heart of Olneyville, the community where we work. What a wonderful way to celebrate our past and

future as an organization!”

In addition to the musical production, the evening’s activities will include an out-of-this-world raffle, live auction, a time machine

experience, and a volunteer appreciation award presentation to MAP’s costume designer Paula

Correia.

Event is June 3, 2013 at Fete Music Hall, 103 Dike Street, Providence RI. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets

are $60 at the door, $50 on-line. Tickets will be available on Brown Paper Tickets. www.brownpapertickets.com/events/366299.
