PROVIDENCE, RI, July 10, 2009—MedMacro Integrated Health (www.medmacro.com), which provides wellness, nutrition, and holistic healing consultation, education, and coaching services, has named Marlene M. Marcello (formerly Marcello-McKenna) president. Located in Providence, MedMacro also provides seminars and workshops on self-healing through complementary health alternatives for clients. Marcello’s appointment is effective immediately.

Marcello will oversee the company’s strategic direction, supervise marketing programs, and spearhead new market development. A certified nutritional consultant, she will also manage day-to-day operations, counsel clients on plant-based nutrition programs, and address industry conferences on behalf of the company. Previously, Marcello served as a marketing consultant. She was an investment advisor and loan originator for 30 years.

Marcello has been involved in the wellness and holistic healing community for more than 20 years. A personal coach and macrobiotic educator, she has spoken at numerous holistic health conferences, appeared on national TV and radio talk shows, and been featured in national print magazines, like Ladies Home Journal and Your Health. She is active with the Melanoma Foundation of New England. Previously, Marcello served as a founding board member and treasurer of Hope Center for Life Support, a non-profit organization offering support groups for those with cancer, their families, and their caregivers.

Author of When Hope Never Dies, which chronicles her struggles against terminal cancer, Marcello was one of eight people recently honored as a cancer survivor by the Melanoma Foundation of New England at special dinner in Boston, hosted by Kelli Pedroia, wife of Red Sox second baseman, Dustin Pedroia.

Marcello is a graduate of Skidmore College in New York. She also attended graduate school at the University of Rhode Island and the School of Advanced International Studies in Paris and taken medical courses to increase her healthcare knowledge. She lives in Providence.
