BOSTON – Single-family home sales in Massachusetts declined 2.5 percent year over year in February to 2,578, while the median price of homes rose 6.4 percent year over year to $340,000, according to the Warren Group Wednesday.
Condominium sales in Massachusetts rose 3.1 percent year over year from February 2017 to 1,163. In that time, sale prices for condos rose 17.6 percent to $350,000.
“This most recent gain marks 23 consecutive months of year-over-year median home price gains, and there’s no sign that they’re slowing down,” said Timothy Warren Jr., CEO of The Warren Group, in a statement.
In Bristol County, Mass., there were 201 single-family home sales in February, an 18.6 percent decline from February 2017. The median sale price in Bristol County rose 5.3 percent to $280,000. A total of 34 condos sales were recorded in Bristol County in February, a decline of 33.3 percent. Their median price was $216,000, a 9.1 percent year-over-year increase.
Year-to-date in February, Massachusetts has seen 6,187 single-family home sales, with a year-to-date median sale price of $347,739.
Year-to-date sales in Bristol County totaled 503, a decline from 555 one year prior. The year-to-date median sale price was $275,000, a 3 percent year-over-year gain. Year to date, 88 condos have been sold in the area, at a median price of $220,000.
