PORTSMOUTH – The Carnegie Abbey Club property auction has ended with an accepted bid, the club announced Tuesday evening.

The club said the bid was made by current members intent on maintaining the club at the site.

Financial details of the bid were not provided, but the club noted that more details will be available in the coming days.

J.J. Manning Auctioneers handled the sale, which was divided into components featuring the major property uses.

The club consists of an 18-hole golf course, equestrian center, marina and clubhouse. The auction was divided into five lots.

The sale was for the leasehold and fee interests, because the land itself is owned by the Portsmouth Abbey.
