A 3.6-acre waterfront property in Middletown has fetched $3.6 million, the listing agent reported this week.
The sale marked a record-high price for a residential lot in Newport County and is one of the highest per-acre prices ever paid in the state, said Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty, which sold the property.
Off Indian Avenue, the lot offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sachuest Point, as well as the Sakonnet Lighthouse, Gull Rock and the dramatic reefs at the mouth of the Sakonnet River. The land was once part of the “Hopelands” estate and abuts the original Normandy style manor house.
The estate house set on 4.1 acres of waterfront property is listed for $4,975,000 by Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty.
