PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On June 16-17, Valerie Chanoux, co-owner of Minuteman Press Providence-Warwick, will join 1,000 dedicated cyclists as she spends the weekend on a bicycle seat for Bike MS: Ride the Rhode 2012, the 25th anniversary ride, a bike event for “A World Free of Multiple Sclerosis”.

Chanoux, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, will ride 150 miles of open road. This will be Chanoux’s eighth consecutive year riding in this event.

Cyclists start from Newport, cross the Newport and Jamestown bridges, head through Rhode Island and south east Massachusetts to an overnight at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. On Sunday, the cyclists ride back to Newport.

“There are nearly 2,000 people affected by MS throughout Rhode Island,” said Chanoux. “It’s an honor to participate in this challenging ride among so many who support the cause.”
