PROVIDENCE – A designer and builder of indoor mini-golf courses recently moved its corporate offices across town.
Monster Entertainment LLC, parent of the Monster Mini-Golf franchise operation, finished moving into new offices at 400 Harris Ave. two weeks ago, founder and co-owner Christina Vitagliano said. The new location near the Capital City’s American Locomotive Works complex combines the company’s former headquarters on Westminster Street in Providence and a workshop in Warwick.
“It was very hard to do business in two different places,” Vitagliano told Providence Business News.
The renovated, arrow-shaped building visible from Route 10 provides about 27,000 square feet of space, almost twice as much as the former offices and workshop combined. Vitagliano said the company purchased the building for $650,000 without tax incentives from the city or state.
Vitagliano said she discovered after the move that the location is appropriate for a company that specializes in designing off-beat mini-golf courses. A number of artists have galleries nearby and The Steel Yard – an arts center – is down the road.
“We kind of fit,” Vitagliano said. “We create. We build monsters. We create art.”
Monster’s new offices will also host, Get Fit With Wit, a road-race organizing company formed by Vitagliano and others. The company aims to present road races with a twist: costumes preferred.
