Narragansett business co-owner accused of embezzling $98K POSTED ONLINE: JAN. 3 Ann Marie Goddard, 54, of Timber Ridge Road in Charlestown and co-owner of Exodus Construction in Narragansett, was arrested on charges of embezzlement and fraudulent conversion, unlawful appropriation and obtaining money/property by false pretenses or impersonation. 2. Tax delinquency list shows state’s biggest scofflaws POSTED ONLINE: JAN. 4 The top 10 scofflaws for individual income and business taxes owe the state close to $60 million, according to the R.I. Division of Taxation. No. 1 on the business list is S & P Temporary Help Services Inc., a Providence employment agency whose owner, Cheang Chea, was sentenced in 2010 to two years in federal prison for failing to pay millions of dollars in federal withholding. Topping the individual list is Richard Shanley, a Warwick resident who owes $3.1 million.

3. $9M sale of Arcadia in Westerly is highest R.I. home sale this year POSTED ONLINE: JAN. 17 Arcadia, located at 14 Ninigret Ave. in Westerly, was sold for $9 million, making it the highest home sale in the state so far in 2024. Michael E. and Julia B. Dailey purchased the home. Arcadia was tied for the fifth-highest sale in Rhode Island in 2018 with another home in the town, Edgecove at 6 Waters Road, when it was bought for $6.1 million.
