Multifamily home sale on East Side matches $2.1M sales record

PROVIDENCE – At $2.1 million, the sale of 247 Wayland Ave. on the East Side of Providence has matched the highest price ever recorded for a multifamily on the East Side, according to Residential Properties Ltd., which represented the sellers.

Called the Albert C. White House, the Second Empire-style residence has been renovated into four units. It is located in Wayland Square and includes landscaped grounds and specimen plantings.

Built in 1930, the brick structure has a mansard roof. It was assessed by the city at $1 million in 2018, according to online city records.

The sellers were listed on city property records as Preston W. and Beverly Halperin. The buyers were Richard M. Kratzenberg and Brendan J. Carolan, according to the records.

The closing was Aug. 14.

The listing agent was Ellen Kasle, of Residential Properties Ltd. The buyers’ agent was Lindsay Fischer Pettinelli, with Domain Properties.
