NARRAGANSETT – Narragansett High School Assistant Principal Toby Gibbons last week was named the Assistant Principal of Year by the Rhode Island Association of School Principals.

A surprise ceremony was held for Gibbons Dec. 4 in front of faculty, staff and students at the school. Dan Warner, principal of Narragansett High School, nominated Gibbons for the award.

According to the school, Gibbons stepped into the role of interim principal for the school while Warner was on medical leave for four months earlier this year after undergoing a kidney transplant.

Gibbons will be recognized by the RIASP in a formal dinner in the spring of 2020.
