PROVIDENCE – Narragansett Beer Co. is aiming to officially open its new brewery here on Memorial Day weekend.

The 18,000-square-foot brewery will feature a taproom, bar and an outdoor patio area in the Fox Point neighborhood next to India Point Park.

The company recently said it is currently planning soft openings throughout May and is aiming for a grand opening for both its indoor and outdoor spaces the weekend of May 29-31.

The brewery will also sell snacks and sandwiches on-site, the company said.

The brewery is already offering on-site beer to go, available through the Narragansett website. Currently, the offerings include three newly launched beers, all brewed at the new site, including the Prima Doppia IPA, Musik Express IPA and Pink Boots Pale Ale, as well as company merchandise. The company noted that the lineup of offerings at the site is expected to expand in the coming weeks.

“After 130 years, we could not be more excited to begin brewing and to get a first taste of what is just the start of new beers out of the brewery,” said Mark Hellendrung, president of Narragansett Beer in a statement. “With the doors nearly ready to open, we’re thrilled to release these three brand new brews spearheaded by our head brewer Lee Lord. I can’t wait to celebrate ‘Gansett’s official Providence homecoming later this month [and] raise a pint to a brighter year ahead.”
