PROVIDENCE – On Friday the Sun Sentinel reported Delray Beach, Fla.-based Alfred Angelo Bridal company shut all 61 stores nationwide – including its locations in Warwick and North Attleboro – the same day it filed for bankruptcy in court.
“The shutdown left brides-to-be across the country locked out and with little information about their time-sensitive purchases,” read the Sentinel article.

The article reported Alfred Angelo had retained Miami law firm Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson to represent them.
In an interview with Patricia Redmond, of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, the Sentinel learned the company’s top creditors are portfolio company Czech Asset Management in Old Greenwich, Conn., for $54 million, and King of Prussia-based credit processor CardConnect for up to $5 million.
The company, which is over 80 years old and founded by Alfred Angelo Piccione and Edythe Vincent Piccione, sold its designs at more than 800 retailers across the United States and maintained stores in Canada, Europe and Japan according to the Sentinel.
Calls to the Warwick location by Providence Business News went unanswered.
