Nestor announces another deal with city in Georgia

Providence-based Nestor Inc., the parent company of Nestor Traffic Systems Inc., a provider of traffic enforcement solutions, announced Wednesday that the city of Morrow, Ga., entered a five-year contract with Nestor Traffic Systems for the installation, maintenance and operation of CrossingGuard, Nestor’s video-based automated red light camera system, at a minimum of four approaches across the city.

The contract was signed by the city manager following the Morrow City Council vote to authorize the contract.

Nigel Hebborn, executive vice president of Nestor, said, “We’re pleased to work with the city of Morrow in Clayton County, Ga. We believe our selection by the city to be based, in part, on the recognition of the successful red light program we are currently running in other locations in Georgia including Fulton County and the cities of Alpharetta and Roswell.”

Nestor provides automated traffic enforcement solutions to state and municipal governments. CrossingGuard uses patented multiple, time-synchronized videos to capture evidence of red light and speed violations. In addition, CrossingGuard offers customers a Collision Avoidance safety feature that can help prevent intersection collisions.
