Hugh Hall | Westview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center administrator
Assembling a high-performance staff that is mission-driven is essential to the idea of continuous quality improvement.
To offer them the trust and freedom to be innovative in their work results in great outcomes, not only for a satisfied staff, but for a highly satisfied patient and resident.
West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center offers short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing and long-term-care services.
Some of our innovations include a first-of-its-kind Alternative Comfort Therapy program, a collaborative Palliative Care program and being a hub for workforce training, from CNAs to nursing and therapy students.
Innovation succeeds when a system built on continuous quality improvement is adhered to by all.
My staff is passionate about quality improvement. That includes the excellent care the nurses, CNAs and therapists provide. It includes the wonderful meals our dining staff prepare and serve and the tireless cleaning and freshening our housekeepers and maintenance staff perform.
We continually look at performance measures and work together to be better and do better.
We have created career ladders to encourage staff growth and personal advancement. And our involvement in our community aligns perfectly with our values. These are all key drivers of quality improvement.
The innovation that takes place at West View has placed us among the best in the country in rehabilitation and skilled-nursing facilities.
What lessons can other business operators learn from our success?
Never be satisfied! Always drive to be better.
