New England Tech appoints new leadership positions

NEW ENGLAND INSTITUTE of Technology has announced the appointments of Scott Freund, former vice president of operations at NEIT, to executive vice president, and Douglas Leigh as the training and workforce-development manager of the school's Center for Technology and Industry.

EAST GREENWICH – New England Institute of Technology announced in mid-September the appointment of Scott Freund and Douglas Leigh to positions within the school’s administrative leadership and Center for Technology and Industry, respectively.

The former vice president of operations at NEIT, Freund will now serve as the school’s executive vice president overseeing enrollment, marketing, student support services, financial aid, facilities and information systems. His 35-year tenure includes work at New England Tech at Palm Beach and then the Lincoln College of Technology. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer for Niemann Capital Management in Carson City, Nevada. Freund holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.

New to the school, Leigh joined as a training and workforce-development manager in the Center for Technology and Industry. He is responsible for the development of customized training programs used by multiple departments and government agencies, including implementation of Autodesk programming. Leigh previously worked for the Lincoln Educational Services in the admissions and student recruitment department, as director of business development at Health Care Training Services in Fall River and has a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
