Debra L. Sharpe named as Executive Director of The Brain Injury Association of RI

Cranston, May 19  Michael Baker, President, and the Board of Directors of The Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island are pleased to announce that Debra L. Sharpe of Rumford, RI has been selected to lead the organization as its Executive Director.   

 

Sharpe brings more than 30 years of professional experience in key leadership positions.  Most recently she was Director of Institutional Advancement at St. Clare – Newport.  She has also served as New England Regional Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Director of Development at Boys Town, New England and Director of Institutional Advancement at St. Mary Academy-Bay View, in addition to her executive experience with other community and national not-for-profit organizations.

 

Michael Baker commented: “Debra has enjoyed much success in her prior positions.  We are confident  she will make a significant contribution to our organization and to the community at large.  We look forward to working with her to ensure that The Brain Injury Association of RI is a powerful advocate and an effective resource for survivors of brain injuries, their families and caregivers.”

 

A member of the International Association of Fundraising Professionals, Sharpe earned her master’s degree from the University of Illinois and her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University.
