PROVIDENCE – The local accounting firm of Yarlas, Kaplan, Santilli, Moran Ltd. has become part of the larger New York-based accounting firm of Marcum LLP, Marcum announced Monday.
Providence-based YKSM has merged into Marcum’s New England regional operations. The transaction went into effect Aug. 1. Terms were not disclosed.
The merger enables Marcum, recently ranked as the 16th largest U.S. accounting firm based on annual net revenue of $469.5 million, to expand its business in the Providence area.
YKSM’s staff will add seven partners and 23 associates to Marcum. That includes YKSM partner Thomas E. Lisi, who becomes office managing partner under Marcum, the company said.
“Marcum’s extensive national resources and range of industry specialization will be tremendous assets for our clients, while providing greatly expanded career opportunities for our people,” Lisi said in a statement.
Overall, YKSM brings professionals with a total of more than 60 years of experience providing audit, accounting, financial consulting, tax and litigation support services to its clients.
Marcum has an office in Providence at 155 South Main St. In addition, Marcum’s New England operations also includes offices in Greenwich, Hartford, New Haven and West Hartford in Connecticut, as well as in Boston and Portland, Maine. Marcum also has offices in major business markets across the United States and overseas.

Two of YKSM’s named partners – Salvatore Santilli and Paul Moran – are staying on with Marcum as managing directors, said Marcum spokeswoman Julie Gelfand.
YKSM’s office at 27 Dryden Lane has remained open. Prior to the merger into Marcum, YKSM was formed through another merger in 2001, Gelfand said.
