NEWPORT – The Newport Historical Society’s three-day “Newport Show” at the end of July raised more than $4 million to help support the organization and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County.
The event, held at St. George’s School and attended by more than 1,000 people, brought together collectors, artists, historians and all who appreciate craftsmanship, from fine art and antique furniture to vintage jewelry and design, the society said. The show also partnered with the South County Museum for a loan show, where an exhibit showed women’s handicrafts that included quilts and needlework.
