NEWPORT – Returning for its 12th year, the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival will be held from Sept. 21-24 with signature events hosted at The Elms, Rosecliff, Marble House and The Breakers, according to a late July statement from the organization.
Beginning with the Burgundy Grand Cru Dinner at The Elms on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m., guests will drink wines produced in Burgundy paired with the cuisine of award-winning chef Tony Maws of Craigie on Main in Cambridge, Mass.

Held on the Marble House lawn, the Grand Tastings event on Saturday, Sept. 23 and Sunday, Sept. 24 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. offers guests entertainment and the chance to sample hundreds of wines from around the world as well as local, regional and national cuisine.
Saturday at 7 p.m., the Vintner Dinner at Rosecliff will feature a five-course meal, each course paired with select wines presented by a vintner who will speak about the winery, the specific wine, the vintage and why it pairs with the dish.
Tickets for the late September event are now on sale and can be purchased at www.NewportMansionsWineAndFood.org. Proceeds from the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival benefit the Preservation Society of Newport County, whose 11 historic properties – seven of them National Historic Landmarks – span more than 250 years of American architectural and social development.
