NEWPORT – Two Newport neighborhoods have received a total of $40,000 in grants from the Citizens Bank Growing Communities initiative.
The grants will be used to fund projects that contribute to neighborhood growth and support local economic activity.

The recipients are in the Broadway and North End neighborhoods of the city and include:
- Bike Newport, for launch of the educational programs at the Big Blue Bike Barn.
- Boys & Girls Club of Newport County, for the North End Kids Clubhouse.
- The Florence Gray Center, for place-based community and supportive services.
- Institute of Entrepreneurship and Leadership, for its Tech Boot Camp.
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, for the Stepping Stones program.
- Newport Housing Authority, for the Saturday Club.
