SECAUCUS, N.J. – A new line of buses that travel between Boston, New York and Washington, D.C., is aiming to attract young, tech-savvy customers by offering free onboard Wi-Fi, extra legroom and low prices.
Bolt Bus – a 50:50 joint venture of Greyhound Lines Inc. and Peter Pan Bus Lines Inc. – began service in March. It offers multiple daily trips along the Northeast Corridor via its New York City hub. Fares start at $1, inspiring the company slogan “Bolt for a Buck.”
However, although the Boston-bound Bolt Bus route passes through Rhode Island, there are no plans to expand the service to include stops in the state, a spokesman told Providence Business News. The company also has no timeline for when it might explore an expansion of service, he said.

Its a shame because Rhode Island could really use this service.
It’s also a bad business decision on the part of Bolt… think of it: RI is in the top 5 tech savvy markets in the country. Add to that the number of students from PHL and NYC markets that attend RI colleges. What would a stop in PVD cost Bolt? A few cents a ticket?
