NEWPORT – Five Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport employees and two NUWC retirees were recently awarded U.S. Department of Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Awards, NUWC announced.
Presented during an Oct. 18 ceremony, the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Awards are the third-highest U.S. Navy honorary award, NUWC said.
Receiving awards were: Vicki Comeau, of South Kingstown, head, Corporate Operations Department; Edward Rishmany, of Tiverton, an engineer in the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Department; Middletown resident John Woodhouse, communications specialist in the Corporate Operations Department; Warwick resident Peter Roy, an engineer in the Platform and Payload Integration Department; and William Roman, of South Kingstown, an engineer in the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Department.
The retired employees who were honored were Jeffrey Feaster, who worked as a deputy department head in the Sensors and Sonar Systems Department, and Sandra Rosario, who worked in the Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Department. Feaster lives in South Kingstown and Rosario is from Dighton, Mass.
NUWC Division Newport, a shore command of the Naval Sea Systems Command, is celebrating its 150th anniversary.
