PROVIDENCE – One hotel in Rhode Island received AAA’s top honor this year, the Five Diamond Award, while several other hotels received the also-coveted Four Diamond Award designation, according to a spokesman for AAA Northeast Friday.
Five Diamond rating:
The Five Diamond Award is AAA’s top designation for hotels and restrurants. Only one Rhode Island hotel received AAA’s top honor, the Ocean House in Westerly. This is not the Ocean House’s first foray with AAA’s cream-of-the-crop hotels.
Four Diamond ratings:
Of the 11 hotels in the Providence metropolitan area that earned the Four Diamond Award, seven were in Newport.
Newport:
- The Chanler at Cliff Walk
- Cliffside Inn
- Forty 1° North
- Grace Vanderbilt
- Hydrangea House Inn
- Newport Marriott
- Point Pleasant Inn
Providence:
Westerly:
Seekonk:
Five restaurants in Rhode Island were also awarded the Four Diamond Award in Rhode Island:
- Coast in the Ocean House, Westerly
- The Spiced Pear in the Chanler at Cliff Walk, Newport
- The Dining Room at Castle Hill Inn, Newport
- The Vanderbilt Grill in the Grace Vanderbilt, Newport
- Gracie’s in Providence.
No restaurants in the Providence metropolitan area received the Five Diamond Award.
