PROVIDENCE – Providence College next fall will launch a new fully online master’s degree program that will be designed to help emerging professionals within sports administration with skills needed to grow in the field.
PC said Wednesday the coursework for its new Master of Science in Sports Administration program – part of PC’s School of Business – will offer students hands-on experience through student engagement activities in multiple business areas within the sports industry. Students will complete 11 courses and 33 credit hours to earn the degree, the college says, with full-time or part-time course options available.
Among the courses the program will offer include executive strategy and leadership in sports, sports analytics, risk management and contract negotiation in sports, financial management in the sports industry and research methods in sports management.
“Building upon the national recognition of Providence College’s illustrious athletic programs, this new online master’s program elevates our established success in graduate business education,” PC School of Business Dean Sylvia Maxfield said in a statement. “I am excited to launch this transformative program and provide students with a world-class degree in sports administration rooted in Providence College tradition of a liberal arts education.”
Priority enrollment applications for the program are due Dec. 15, PC says, and the regular deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2025. Admission will be handled on a rolling basis if space is available after Feb. 15,
2025, and no later than April 1, 2025, PC says.
