Shaw’s Supermarket, 1050 Willett Ave., East Providence, will be making donations to the Brain Injury Association of Rhode Island throughout the month of April as part of the supermarket chain’s Give Back Where It Counts reusable bag program. The East Providence location will donate $1 to BIARI, a nonprofit that offers support to those who have sustained traumatic brain injuries, and their families, for every Give Back-themed reusable bag that is purchased. Wendy’s restaurants within Rhode Island and Bristol County, Mass., will offer customers the opportunity to purchase coupons to benefit Adoption Rhode Island. From now until Sunday, May 26, customers can purchase six free Jr. Frosty coupons for $1 and Wendy’s will donate the net proceeds from the sales to Adoption Rhode Island, a nonprofit helping children in state care waiting for families. Mindy Independent, an elementary charter school soon to open in East Providence, will hold a fundraiser titled Bingo, Bites & Brew on Thursday, April 25, from 6-10 p.m. at The Guild, 461 Main St., Pawtucket. Attendees will have the opportunity to play Bingo and sample some alcoholic beverages. Tickets cost $30 and all proceeds will benefit Mindy Independent, which is scheduled to open in 2020. The 25th annual A Wish Come True Dinner Dance and Auction will take place Friday, April 26, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Venus de Milo Restaurant & Catering, 75 Grand Army of the Republic Highway, Swansea. All proceeds raised at the event will benefit children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to enjoy a special event. Rep.
