Shop for a cause

Alex and Ani will hold a Charmed by Charity event, benefiting Youth Pride Inc., on Saturday, July 13, between 1-4 p.m. at Alex and Ani, 1 Bowen’s Wharf, Newport. The event will allow shoppers to enjoy snacks and refreshments while shopping at the store. Fifteen percent of total sales from the Newport store will support Youth Pride, a Providence-based nonprofit that helps meet the needs of youths and young adults within the LGBTQ community. Polo for dogs

Newport Polo will host its All Charity Match on Sunday, July 14, from 5-7 p.m. at the polo ground, 250 Linden Lane, Portsmouth. The event will feature a match, opportunities for attendees to picnic, and a dog parade. Pet dogs are allowed to attend, provided they are on a leash. Tickets cost $15 and proceeds raised will benefit the Portsmouth Dog Park, located behind Melville Campgrounds. A work of art

Art to Reduce Mental Health Stigma, a Providence-based nonprofit that challenges the stigma surrounding mental illness through art, will hold its Art Auction Fundraiser on Thursday, July 18, from 7-9 p.m. at the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, 1 Euclid Ave., Providence. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on paintings to help support the nonprofit. Rising above cancer

The Lifespan Cancer Institute will hold its annual Rising Above Cancer 5K Run/Walk Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Warwick City Park, 185 Asylum Road, Warwick. Registration begins at 7 a.m. The event will feature a free Kids Sprint, for children ages 1-10, at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 9 a.m., the 5K walk at 9:05 a.m. and a 3/4-mile walk at 9:15 a.m. An awards ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Festivities will also include free skin exams, complimentary massage therapy, music, face painting, children’s activities and raffle prizes for participants. Registration costs $30 for the run and walk, $25 for the virtual race and $20 for the 3/4-mile walk. Proceeds raised will support the Mallory Strong Patient Support Fund, which assists patients who are having trouble affording their medications and other medical necessities associated with their diagnosis of cancer. On the table

Dartmouth YMCA will hold its Farm to Table Dinner on Saturday, July 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Sharing the Harvest Community Farm, 276 Gulf Road, Dartmouth. The event will feature farm tours, dinner, appetizers and dancing. Tickets cost $125 per person and $1,000 for a table of 10. A show for hope

A Cabaret for Cancer, a show benefiting the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, will be held Sunday, July 21, from 2-5 p.m. at The Arctic Playhouse, 1249 Main St., West Warwick. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. In addition to musical performances, the event will also feature raffles, other prizes and a cash bar. Tickets cost $35. Going clubbing

Paddy’s Beach Club will hold a nonprofit night benefiting Olean Center on Thursday, July 25, from 5-9 p.m. at the club, 159 Atlantic Ave., Westerly. The event is part of an ongoing Nonprofit Thursday series by the club throughout the summer supporting local organizations. Olean Center, based in Westerly, provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ending Alzheimer’s

Sip and Sign LLC will hold a fundraising event supporting the Alzheimer’s Association on Friday, July 26, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Arbors at Taunton, 763 County St., Taunton. Attendees will have the opportunity to create signs, under the direction of an instructor, for home décor or as a gift. Design costs start at $15 and proceeds raised will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, which offers support and research in order to combat and eliminate the disease. Swim in the bay

Save The Bay Inc. will hold its 43rd annual Save The Bay Swim, the organization’s largest fundraiser, on Saturday, July 27, beginning at 8:55 a.m. at the U.S. Naval War College, 686 Cushing Road, Newport. About 500 swimmers and 200 kayakers will cross a 1.7-nautical mile, open-water area across Narragansett Bay. Registration costs $50 for swimmers and kayakers.
