Pizza and the environment

The Rhode Island Environmental Education Association will hold its fourth annual July Fundraiser on Tuesday, July 9, from 5-9 p.m. at Flatbread Pizza Co., 161 Cushing St., Providence. The event will include a short meeting about an update on the organization’s projects, followed by a pizza dinner. A portion of the pizza sales during the evening will support the nonprofit, which promotes environmental literacy and education for adults and children throughout Rhode Island. Sip and shop

The Newport Experience will host its annual Sip & Shop benefit event on Wednesday, July 10, from 5-8 p.m. at OceanCliff, 65 Ridge Road, Newport. The event will feature cocktails, and local boutiques and designers offering jewelry, clothing and home décor for purchase. Champagne and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Admission is $5 – cash only – and all proceeds raised will support the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. For more information, call (401) 619-7968.

Polo for dogs

Newport Polo will host its All Charity Match on Sunday, July 14, from 5-7 p.m. at the polo ground, 250 Linden Lane, Portsmouth. The event will feature a match, opportunities for attendees to picnic, and a dog parade. Pet dogs are allowed to attend, provided they are on a leash. Tickets cost $15 and proceeds raised will benefit the Portsmouth Dog Park, located behind Melville Campgrounds. A work of art

Art to Reduce Mental Health Stigma, a Providence-based nonprofit that challenges the stigma surrounding mental illness through art, will hold its Art Auction Fundraiser on Thursday, July 18, from 7-9 p.m. at the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, 1 Euclid Ave., Providence. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on paintings to help support the nonprofit. Rising above cancer

The Lifespan Cancer Institute will hold its annual Rising Above Cancer 5K Run/Walk Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 20, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Warwick City Park, 185 Asylum Road, Warwick. Registration begins at 7 a.m. The event will feature a free Kids Sprint, for children ages 1-10, at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 9 a.m., the 5K walk at 9:05 a.m. and a 3/4-mile walk at 9:15 a.m. An awards ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Festivities will also include free skin exams, complimentary massage therapy, music, face painting, children’s activities and raffle prizes for participants. Registration costs $30 for the run and walk, $25 for the virtual race and $20 for the 3/4-mile walk. Proceeds raised will support the Mallory Strong Patient Support Fund, which assists patients who are having trouble affording their medications and other medical necessities associated with their diagnosis of cancer. On the table

Dartmouth YMCA will hold its Farm to Table Dinner on Saturday, July 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Sharing the Harvest Community Farm, 276 Gulf Road, Dartmouth. The event will feature farm tours, dinner, appetizers and dancing. Tickets cost $125 per person and $1,000 for a table of 10.
