PROVIDENCE – The Providence Preservation Society recently announced its receipt of two awards that recognize its efforts at historic-preservation advocacy.

The 2019 Winter Bash, which highlights underused historical spaces, this year will be held at the newly renovated Bomes Theater in Providence. The Providence Tourism Council has pledged to support a $1,500 grant to the preservation society to bolster its marketing and advertising efforts for the event.

In addition, the Heritage Harbor Foundation has awarded the preservation society a $10,000 grant for the installation of an interpretive panel design and video for an informational kiosk, which will be installed at the 1769 Old Brick School House.
