Providence registering potential bidders for sale of unpaid tax liens May 10

PROVIDENCE – The city will convene its sale of unpaid tax liens on May 10 at 10 a.m. at City Hall, according to a recent announcement. The sale is for the purchase of tax liens against property, in the amount of delinquent taxes, plus interest.

In a change from past practice, the city will not hold a registration on the day of the tax sale. All potential bidders must register in advance. Registration forms are available in the Tax Collector’s Office at Providence City Hall or on the office’s website at www.providenceri.gov/collector.

Preregistration will be held through May 4.

Applications will be processed in the order received and all bidder’s seats will be assigned according to paddle number. Only original signed, notarized and completed applications will be accepted via mail, or at the Tax Collector’s Office.
