Providence visitors bureau president resigns

Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau President and CEO Brian C. Whiting has resigned, the bureau’s board of directors announced Tuesday.

“Brian resigned Friday, Feb. 24, citing personal reasons,” said Kevin Cameron, chairman of the bureau’s board and general manager of the Radisson Airport Hotel, in a statement.

Department heads George Donnelly, vice president of marketing, Joyce Pacifico, vice president of administration, and Neil Schriever, vice president of sales, will lead the organization in conjunction with Cameron until a replacement for Whiting is hired.

Whiting joined the bureau in 2003; prior to that he managed the convention, tourism and sports consulting practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, a worldwide accounting and hospitality consulting firm.
