Purvis lands $37.6M in NUWC contracts

MIDDLETOWN – IT systems and service provider Purvis Systems Inc. today announced two contracts worth a combined $36.7 million with the Naval Sea Systems Command’s Naval Undersea Warfare Center.
Purvis will serve as the prime contractor for both NAVSEA deals, while Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman will be among the subcontractors, the company said.
Under the larger of the two contracts – a $35 million project, slated for completion by Aug. 27, 2012 – Purvis will provide operational, technical and engineering services to the Fleet Installation and Facility Management Branch of the NUWC Division Newport’s Undersea Combat Systems Department.
That agreement involves maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades to the Navy submarine fleet. Purvis will be working with NUWC facilities including the Combat Control Systems and Combat Systems Technology labs and Trident Life Cycle Support; key subcontractors will include Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems, Advanced Solutions for Tomorrow Inc. and Gryphon Technologies LLC.
The other contract, estimated at $1.7 million and slated for completion by July 19, 2009 – calls for Purvis to provide project management and software engineering services to the center’s Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department. Subcontractors will include Northrop Grumman and the Sakonnet Technology Group.
